Therapeutic Yoga and Rolf Movement for Healthy Vision

6-week Therapeutic Yoga Series

with Michelle Anderson and Suzanne Picard

We will engage in experiential anatomy, combining discussion and movement, to understand the science of seeing and how the eyes have evolved together with structures and nerves of the neck.  We will address eyestrain, headaches, chronic neck and shoulder tension, effects of trauma and brain injury, and many causes of vision decline due to aging.

Please come prepared to practice without any corrective lenses, and bring a soft eye wrap or scarf. Darkness is healing!

 WHY:

This class series is offered in response to requests for more regular therapeutics for vision and brain/neck trauma after our workshops last summer.  The information is based in part on Michelle’s work with her own eye and brain injuries, and the application of therapeutic yoga to ease tension in the neck and shoulders – so necessary in our computer age!  And Suzanne brings a wealth of knowledge from her Rolfing™ practice and experiences working with holistic eye care professionals.

Suzanne Picard, MFA, Certified Advanced Rolfer, Rolf Movement Instructor and Cranial, Neurovascular and Visceral Practitioner, has been faculty at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration for over 20 years. A yoga student of Michelle’s for a number of years, Suzanne is delighted to share her knowledge to support the community in experiencing longevity in healthy vision.

Michelle Anderson, MS, C-IAYT, RCST® is the co-owner of Studio Be Yoga in Boulder, and the creator of the Biodynamic Yoga method. She is a master teacher, skilled yoga therapist and intuitive healer.  She is devoted to her students and to creating engaging mind body practices for all stages of life.
